Out of Office: Gone Chilling

We often treat vacations like a "nice-to-have" luxury, but honestly, they are a total necessity for keeping your head on straight. Staying glued to a screen in a high-pressure job eventually leads to major brain fog where your creativity just hits a wall. Stepping away gives your nervous system a chance to actually chill out. This prevents that "burnt-to-a-crisp" feeling and helps you stay in the game for the long haul.
Last year I was lucky enough to take a 7-day Alaskan cruise and it was the ultimate reset. There is something about being out in the middle of that massive, quiet wilderness that forces you to unplug. Watching glaciers and the rugged coastline made the usual daily stresses feel pretty small. It was a week of trading pinging notifications for crisp air and incredible views. That trip gave me the mental breathing room I did not even realize I was missing.

Coming back, the difference in my energy was night and day. I did not just return with a camera roll full of wild life and glaciers. I came back with a fresh perspective and way more focus. Taking your time off is not just about the trip itself. It is about hitting the refresh button so you can show up as a more inspired and grounded human being when you get back to real life.
